Headley visited India many times with a fake visa

Probe into Headley's links with 26/11
New Delhi, Nov 9: David Coleman Headley, the American who has been arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and is being tried in US for working and plotting terror attacks with Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT), was in India many times over the past few years, say media reports.

Headley is believed to have visited India between 2006 and 2008 with a fake visa. He was in Mumbai in mid-2008 while his Pakistan-born Canadian accomplice, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, who has also been arrested by the FBI, was in Mumbai in Nov 2008 and reportedly left the country days before the 26/11 strikes.

While some reports suggest that the Indian agencies are not looking into Headley's involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, others quote police as saying that Headley's links with attacks are definitely being probe into.

"Yes, we are investigating the role of David Coleman Headley in this matter. However, so far we have not found any evidence linking them to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria was quoted as saying in a media report.
