Obama, journos lunch on salad, halibut pear tart at White House

Washington, Nov.8 (ANI): US President Barack Obama met shared a green salad, halibut and pear tart for dessert with several journalists at lunch on Friday at the White House.

The attendees for Friday's lunch were as follows: CNN's David Gergen, Washington Post's Chris Cillizza, Newsweek's Jon Meacham and Howard Fineman, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Cynthia Tucker, POLITICO's Mike Allen, NPR/ Fox's Mara Liasson, Talking Points Memo's Josh Marshall and New York Times trio David Brooks, Andy Rosenthal, and Gail Collins.

Also on hand were administration officials: David Axelrod, Anita Dunn, Bill Burton, and Robert Gibbs.

The off-the-record lunch lasted about two hours, reports Politico.

Obama's had had several meetings with columnists, editors and reporters since shortly before inauguration. (ANI)

Obama plane aborts landing, touches down safely: FAA

Washington, May 18:  The official plane carrying US President Barack Obama aborted an initial landing on Thursday, May 18, due to poor weather before safely touching down in Connecticut, federal aviation officials said."The pilot attempted to land at 9:50 am (1350 GMT) and because of poor visibility, he decided to do a go-around and he landed at 10:05," at Bradley International Airport in the state of Connecticut, Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Tammy Jones told AFP."There was no danger......
