Murthy's wife sells 2mn Infy shares
Bangalore, Nov 6: Weeks after Infosys co-founder, Narayana Murthy sold the company shares worth 37 million dollars, his wife Sudha Murthy too followed by selling two million shares of her holding for over Rs 430 crore.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, Infosys on Thursday, Nov 5 announced that Sudha Murthy's holding in the company had reduced from 9,314,660 shares to 7,314,600 shares.

On the same day, the Infosys' co-founder and chief executive S Gopalakrishnan purchased 400,000 shares for around Rs 86.6 crore from the market. With this purchase, Gopalakrishnan holds a total of 6,656,726 shares, the IT major said.Earlier in Oct 2009, N R Narayana Murthy offloaded as many as 800,000 shares from his personal holding to raise about Rs 177 crore. One of the most successful entrepreneurs of the country took this step to start a venture capital (VC) fund focused on India.

"The venture capital fund will encourage and support young entrepreneurs having brilliant business ideas," the Oct 22 filing said.
