New Delhi, Nov 6: Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines on Friday, Nov 6 raised their fuel surcharges by up to Rs 200 on domestic flights and said that the hike comes into effect immediately, the domestic private air-carriers announced in separate statements.

"Effective today (Friday), the fuel surcharge levied by Kingfisher Airlines for travel on domestic sector stands revised upward," a Kingfisher Airlines statement said.

While the fuel surcharge on flights below 1,000 km has been hiked by Rs 100, for those above 1,000 km it would be Rs 200, the company's statement added.

"We have increased the fuel surcharge by up to Rs 200 on all our domestic flights across Jet Airways, JetLite and Jet Konnect with immediate effect," a Jet Airways spokesperson said.

Another carrier, SpiceJet which is known for its affordability is also considering a hike, say media reports. The airline is considering to take this step to offset increasing operating costs.
