Andhra CM Rosaiah to visit Delhi for a day

New Delhi, Nov 6 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah will arrive here today on a one-day visit with a heavy official and political agenda.

Issues pertaining to the proposed alliance between the Congress and the Praja Rajyam of Chiranjeevi and the impending Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting to elect a new leader in place of YS Rajasekhara Reddy will come up for discussion during Rosaiah's meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

He is also likely to brief her about the party's efforts to wrest the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.

Rosaiah will also meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other Central ministers to apprise them about the situation in the state and the need for further assistance.

The State Government has already submitted a report to the Centre on the estimated loss/damage of about Rs 12,824.70 crore caused by floods. (ANI)

Chatterjee expresses regret over UP Andhra assemblies ruckus

New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, on Wednesday, expressed great regret over the ruckus during the joint session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly."Wherever it is, I do not want to mention any assembly, wherever it happens, it is extremely painful, extremely worrisome. It does not help strengthening of democracy. On the other hand, it weakens our democratic structure," Chatterjee told reporters.The Uttar Pradesh budget session on February 10 had to be adjourned after Samajwadi.....

Election Commission to visit Andhra Pradesh on March 12

Hyderabad, Mar 8 (ANI): Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalswami and two Election Commissioners Navin Chawla and S Y Quraishi will visit Andhra Pradesh on March 12.During their two-day visit, the team will review preparedness in the state for the coming Lok Sabha polls. Andhra Pradesh is to have a two-phased election on April 16 and 23. (ANI).....
