Pak anti-terror action key to talks: Foreign Secy
New Delhi, Nov 5: Reinforcing India's stand on the fight against terrorism, foreign secretary, Nirupama Rao said on Wednesday, Nov 4, that talks with Pakistan can take place only when Pakistan recommits itself to fight terror groups within its territory.

Addressing a seminar on South Asia organised by the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), she said," we have conveyed many times that we are willing to engage in meaningful dialogues with Pakistan. But Pakistan must commit itself not to allow its territory to be used for terror activities against India.

Refuting Pakistan military spokesperson Athar Abbas' allegation of seizing Indian made arms and equipments  from Taliban bastion of South Waziristan, she said "There is no factual basis to these allegations. We have always wanted good relations with Pakistan."

In her keynote address at South Asia Conference 2020 on Wednesday, Nov 4, the foreign secy had urged international community to pressurise Pakistan to commit itself to an anti-terror action before the nation turns into a spiral of violence.
