Pressurise Pak to fight terror: Foreign Secy
New Delhi, Nov 4: In her keynote address at South Asia-2020 Conference on Wednesday,Nov 4, Indian Foreign Secretary, Nirupama Rao urged International community to pressurise Pakistan to implement its commitment to fight terrorism before the region turns into spiral of violence.

"Put effective pressure on Pakistan to implement its stated commitment to deal with terror groups within its territory or else the past eight years in Afghanistan will be wiped-out," she said "failure to act effectively runs the risk of catapulting the region into spiral of violence."

Terming Taliban and al-Qaeda resurgence as a real challenge, she said that international community must recommit its assistance to Afghanistan.

The consensus on support by contiguous areas behind terror activities in Afghanistan also figured in her keynote address.

Act fast, if not India may strike: McCain to Pak

Washington, Dec 7: US Senator and Former Presidential candidate John McCain said on Saturday, Dec 6, he believes that if Pakistan did not take necessary action against the individuals and groups linked to 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, India will conduct air strikes on select targets in Pakistan. He added that there is enough evidence of the involvement of former ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) officers in the planning and execution of the Mumbai strikes.
