At least 209 wounded in Iran earthquake

Tehran, Nov 4: Over 200 people were injured in a 4.9-magnitude earthquake which jolted the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas at around 2: 56 am (local time) on Wednesday, Nov 4.

At least 209 people were injured in the quake which was also felt in the adjoining Qeshm highland, reports the official news agency Irna.

"As of 6 am on Wednesday, we have 209 people wounded in the earthquake," Farshid Abedi, the head of the main medical university in Hormozgan province of Bandar Abbas was quoted as saying in media reports.
