UP Chief Secy apologies for violating SC order
New Delhi, Nov 3: Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta has apologised to the Supreme Court for violation of its order to halt construction at various memorial sites of Dalit leaders in Lucknow.

The state Chief Secretary tendered the apology in an affidavit filed on Saturday, Oct 31 to the apex court registry.

Gupta is facing contempt of court proceedings for violating the Sep 8 order of the Supreme Court.

Earlier, the court has asked the Uttar Pradesh government to stop construction at all memorial sites in Lucknow.
