NCP insists on 1999 berth-sharing formula

Praful Patel on seat sharing
New Delhi, Nov 3: Assuring that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will be surely part of the Congress-led ministry in Maharashtra, party's senior leader, Praful Patel asserted that his party would not deviate from the 1999 berth-sharing formula.

In the 1999-berth sharing, key ministries like home, power and finance were with the NCP.

In the 2009 Maharashtra Assembly polls, Congress won 82 seats and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won 62 seats. However, the alliance is yet to decide on allocation of portfolios which is delaying the government formation process.
