Patient stopped by PM secuirty dies
Chandigarh, Nov 3: A 32-year-old patient who needed urgent treatment for kidney failure died as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's security was at stake.

The man from Ambala was being rushed to Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) when he was stalled by the PM's security, say media reports.

Sumit Prakash Verma, who was battling for his life, died as the vehicle carrying him could not reach the emergency area of the hospital in time for treatment which could have saved his life.

Incidentally, the PM was in Chandigarh for a convocation at the PGIMER and the inauguration of the advanced cardiac centre at the institute.

Since he was expected to arrive on Tuesday, Nov 3, police was on high alert and security measures were put in place for the day.

MDU, US varsity to set up joint research centre

Chandigarh, July 26: A delegation from the US-based George Washington University visited Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, to explore possibilities of setting up a joint research centre in frontier areas of Bio-informatics and Systems Biology and work out possibilities of joint studies and research. MDU Vice-Chancellor R S Dhankar welcomed the foreign delegation and presented mementoes to the members of the delegation. Prof Dhankar said the ground work for collaborative research was done.....

reetu has made a perfect observation, each of us(well a lot of us) at the end is working for a living, one of us has a higher profile, we indians tend to overhype authority, let us get out this crap and see ourselves as humans and respect each other

This will keep on happening.. Life in India is very cheap.. Like always no action will be taken ... And again we will hear the same case being repeated in some other place, with some minister sheding crocidle tears on this subject..
