IOC fire still raging, death toll reaches 10
Jaipur, Nov 1: Two more bodies have been spotted at the burning IOC fuel depot site in Jaipur on Sunday, Nov 1, taking the death toll to 10.

Inspector General of Police BL Soni said that the unidentified charred bodies were sighted in the wee hours near one of the blazing tanks, but it was not possible to reach there because of the heat.

According to IGP, It will possibly take about one more day for the fire to die out in the burning tanks. With the tracing of the two bodies, the official toll in IOC fire has risen to 10.

The 34 injured people were being treated at a number of hospitals in the state capital, Soni said.

When asked whether any police case has been registered in connection with the fire and related deaths, the IGP said no IOC official came to lodge a complaint.

Twelve trains passing through Jaipur-Swaimadhopur rail section were diverted to other routes, a NW Railway spokesman said. Similarly, 95 routes of buses were diverted on the Jaipur-Kota highway, officials said.

The Rajasthan High Court has now issued notices to the Central and state governments demanding an explanation for the failure to douse the blaze.
