New Delhi, Oct 31: The list of top taxpayers compiled on the basis of advance tax receipts has unveiled some unexpected names this fiscal including late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajashekhara Reddy's son, YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
However, the Indian Premier League chief, Lalit Modi has claimed the top slot as the highest tax payer in the country for the current fiscal. He has already paid Rs 8 crore in the first half of the current fiscal.
Jagan who follows Lalit Modi has paid a hefty Rs 6.6 cr advance tax this time as opposed to Rs 2.92 lakhs as tax for the last financial year. Apart from suddenly jumping into the list, Jagan is one of the most prominent politicians in the top 100 positions on the list.
The list is studded with popular cricketers and a list of Bollywood stars including, Sachin Tendulkar, M S Dhoni, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
