Infiltration bid foiled, two militants killed in Kupwara

Kupwara, Oct 30 (ANI): Two militants were killed when army troops foiled an infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday.

According to a defence spokesman, the two heavily-armed infiltrators were confronted by the Army when they were trying to sneak into Keran sector.

The terrorists opened fire at the troops. The fire was returned, triggering a gun battle in which two militants were killed, a defence spokesman added.

Operation was continuing when reports last came in. (ANI)

Srinagar, Dec 16: The infiltration from across the border has come down as only 300 militants sneaked into this side from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) this year, GOC 15 corps Lt General A S Sekhon today said. One hundred and twelve militnts surrendered after their return from PoK. However, the entire militant infrastructure, including training camps, launching pads and communication hubs were intact across the Line of Control (LoC), Lt Gen A S Sekhon.....
