TN villagers file complaint against Dinakaran

P D Dinakaran
Chennai, Oct 29: A section of villagers in Tamil Nadu have lodged a police complaint against Karnataka High Court Chief Justice P D Dinakaran alleging that he occupied government land.

VM Raman, one of the complainants, said that they had filed the complaint on Wednesday, Oct 28, alleging that the judge had removed fences around the land to destroy evidence that it was in his possession.

The complaint, registered with the Kanakama Chatiram police station in Tiruvallur district, has been entered in a Community Service Register, which allows the concerned people to arrive at a possible settlement, Raman said.

Earlier, Dinakaran's elevation to the Supreme Court was deferred by a collegium following allegations that the CJ had amassed wealth disproportionate to his income and encroached on government land.

However, Dinakaran has been denying the allegations claiming that he belonged to a rich family, which held huge tracts of lands.
