New Delhi, Oct 29: The Communist Party of India - Marxist (CPI-M) has alleged that the Trinamool Congress chief and the Railway Minister, Mamata Banerjee was involved in the Rajdhani Express trainjacking by working with the Maoist-backed group, People"s Committee against Police Atrocities (PCPA) which staged the hijack.
Accusing Mamata of plotting the hijack of the Rajdhani Express, CPI-M senior leader, Sitaram Yechury on Wednesday, Oct 28, said, "How can a Rajdhani, which runs at a speed of at least 120 km per hour, stopped on the track? Normally a train is stopped when there is some kind of obstruction or an accident on the track but here all of a sudden the train stops.
"Maoists have left graffiti on the train asking for the release of Chhattradhar Mahato, who as everyone knows has been a Trinamool leader earlier."
Prakash Karat also claimed that the Trinamool Congress was desperately seeking to win the 2011 Assembly elections and for that the party chief was using Maoists.
“Mamata"s complicity with the disruptive forces is very clear so her words have no credibility," Karat said.
Quickly coming to the rescue of Didi, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi requested the Left to 'exercise a sense of responsibility'.
