Indian made chopper crashed in Equador
Quito (Equador), Oct 28: Two pilots, trained in India were injured when the Indian-made chopper, Dhruv crashed during a military parade on Tuesday, Oct 27.

The incident resulted in the grounding of six other Dhruv choppers brought from India at USD 45 million six months ago, including the one used by President Rafael Correa.

Dhruv was said to have veered out of control when it was in formation with other two choppers over the air force base before it crashed.

However Air Force General, Leonardo Barreiro said that two crew members managed to escape and were taken to the hospital for further treatment.

He said investigation behind the accident is on.

"The remaining six Dhruv helicopters have been grounded until the completion of the investigation," official statement from Presidential Office said.
