impose president's rule in WB, Mamta
New Delhi, Oct 28: Railway Minister, Mamata Banerjee went beyond discussing family issues of two Maoist-abducted constables and demanded that President's rule be imposed  in West Bengal on Tuesday, Oct 27.

The appeal came after the hijacking of the Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani express at Banstala in Midnapore district on the same day.

Stating that law and order situation in the state is at risk, the Trinamool Congress Chief said that the Central government should utilise Article 355(to Protect State against external aggression and internal disturbances) and 356 (President's Rule) as it is of utmost necessity at the moment to safeguard democracy in West Bengal.

In a statement made after meeting with the Home Minister, she had said that the insensitivity of the Buddhadeb government is a matter of concern.

This is the second time President's rule has been demanded in WB after the Nandigram issue.
