Gilchrest says Indian team remains very competitive

Pune, Oct 27 (ANI): Former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist has said that despite going one down to the Kangaroos in the seven match ODI series, hosts India still remain a very competitive team.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, Gilchrist said: "The Indian cricket team at the moment still remains a very competitive cricket team."

"It is one of the best in the world and of course in the short versions of the game on any given day anyone can beat anyone. We saw yesterday... what I thought in yesterday's contest and I was not surprised to see a guy like Harbhajan Singh to show some fighting spirit when all seemed lost," he added.

The second match of the ODI series will be held in Nagpur city on Wednesday.

The other matches will be played in New Delhi (October. 31), Mohali (November. 2), Hyderabad (November. 5), Guwahati (November. 8) and Mumbai (November. 11). (ANI)
