London, Oct 26(ANI): Registering Manchester City's third successive draw after their Premier League game against Fulham, manager Mark Hughes has said that he was disappointed by his team's performance.

With the help of Lescott and Martin Petrov, City did take a comfortable 2-0 lead, but Roy Hodgson's weary troops somehow dug deep and goals from winger Damien Duff and Clint Dempsey managed to keep victory away from the Blues.

"All in all I'm disappointed. We got ourselves in a winning position and we haven't seen the game out.

From the position we were in, we should have done that comfortably, but we allowed them back into it too quickly," The Sun quoted Hughes, as saying.

"But in the two games against them here, in the league and cup, they have made it as difficult as anyone we've faced at home. The two guys up front have really caused us problems with their running down the channels,' he added.

Hughes further admitted that he was disappointed at the way his side defended.

"We knew the threat Clint Dempsey posed at set- pieces and haven't dealt with it. We've been caught out a couple of times and that's been prevalent this year. We started this season well with our defending, but our goals against column is still not bad," Hughes said.

"I don't think it's just us, it's happening a lot. Often it's to do with delivery rather than poor defensive play. But there are always areas that we can focus on in training, that's what we'll do. The important thing is we learn from our mistakes," he added.

Having started the season with four clean sheets, City has now failed to keep one in their last seven games, despite spending around 59 million pounds on the likes of Lescott, Kolo Toure, Wayne Bridge and goalkeeper Shay Given.(ANI)
