Amar Singh
Jaunpur, Oct 26: Terming the fraud case lodged against him and Bollywood star, Amitabh Bachchan as 'fake', Samajwadi Party (SP) General Secretary said that they were framed at the behest of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati who 'is baffled because of her own failures'.

"Her own misdeeds have been exposed by the Supreme Court. Therefore, she got a fake case registered against me and Amitabh Bachchan," the SP leader said.

Saying that the state police was acting on the directives of the Chief Minister and that his partymen were being targetted, Amar Singh threatened action action them while speaking in an election meeting in Jaunpur in view of the forthcoming Assembly by-elections in the state.

Calling the ruling Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh and Congress as the two sides of the same coin, SIngh said, "While Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is visiting Dalits' houses and is sharing food with them, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is playing into the hands of Chief Minister Mayawati."

Responding to this, BSP chief Swami Prasad Maurya said Amar Singh is suffering from 'mental bankruptcy'. And clarifying that the state government had nothing to do with the FIR, Murya said that Amar Singh should look at himself before accusing others.
