Maoists gun down two rival activists in Jharkhand

Palamau (Jharkhand) Oct 24 (ANI): Suspected Maoists abducted and killed two former activists of a rival outfit at Chando village in Palamau District of Jharkhand on Saturday.

This is the first incident of violence by Naxals after the announcement of polls to the state assembly.

According to police, about 20 red ultras abducted Pappu Singh and M Ansari from their houses late on Friday night and shot them on the outskirts of the village.

Their bodies were recovered on Saturday morning, police said,

The Naxals left behind a note accusing the duo of being police informers.

Police said Singh and Ansari were earlier members of the Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) another naxal outfit.

The CPI (Maoist) is engaged in a turf war with the TPC in parts of Jharkhand. (ANI)

Kathmandu, Dec 16: Nepal's major political parties and the Maoists today reached a consensus for the interim constitution in which the Prime Minister would act as the head of state till elections are held to a constituent assembly slated for June next year.''The Prime Minister, as the Chief of Executive, would exercise all the authority vested in the Head of State. Orissa police arrest three Maoists

Baripada, May 22: Mayurbhanj police have arrested three Maoists, the main suspects of May 8 murder of forester Ravindra Nath Patra in Orissa. The Maoist gunmen had attacked the Sargada forest beat and shot dead the forester under Rairangpur range. Police said the arrested Maoists were also allegedly involved in a landmine blast at Sargada- Chadheipahada Road on May nine. They have been identified as Shastri Nayak of Lado village, Matka Majhi alias.....
