Maoists to release abducted police officer
Kolkata, Oct 22: Maoist leader Kishenji on Thursday, Oct 22, said that the kinapped police officer will be released as the women who were arrested by security forces from Lalgarh were granted bail.

"Atindranath Dutta, who was taken as a Prisoner of War on Tuesday, Oct 20, from Sankrail police station, will be released," he said over phone.

When asked if the government has accepted the demand of releasing the women, Kishenji said that there were 15 women altogether whose bail applications were taken up by a court. "They have got the bail. After they come back, we will release the officer-in-charge," he said.

The Maoist leader did not reveal if anybody from the government side came for negotiation. "Right now, I cannot disclose anything more," he said.

Assuring the family members of Dutta, Kishenji said, "I assure that he will be released. The Maoists never kill Prisoners of War."

Orissa police arrest three Maoists

Baripada, May 22: Mayurbhanj police have arrested three Maoists, the main suspects of May 8 murder of forester Ravindra Nath Patra in Orissa. The Maoist gunmen had attacked the Sargada forest beat and shot dead the forester under Rairangpur range. Police said the arrested Maoists were also allegedly involved in a landmine blast at Sargada- Chadheipahada Road on May nine. They have been identified as Shastri Nayak of Lado village, Matka Majhi alias.....
