Chennai, Oct 19: Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin on Monday, Oct 19, granted awards and a citation to Venu Srinivasan, Chairman, TVS Motor Company for its corporate social activities.
It bagged the award for its outstanding contribution by the CSR arm of TVS Motor, The Srinivasan Services Trust, in helping villagers become self reliant and improve their economic development.
SST emphasizes a holistic and sustainable development approach, targeting the areas of healthcare, education, environment, infrastructure and economic growth.
The aim of SST is to change mindsets and act as a catalyst for creation of self reliant village communities.
It has worked in partnership with research organizations, NGOs, financial bodies, Governmental agencies and local institutions.
SST has made a difference to the lives of 55,740 families in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh.
