Crackers with politicians' names sell like hot cakes during Diwali

Patna, Oct 16 (ANI): Apart from creating news on the national arena, politicians have captured the imagination of the cracker industry in the form of bombs, sparklers and rockets. They are selling like hot cakes in Patna.

Residents, especially children, are making a beeline for crackers named after State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other leaders like Lalu Prasad and Ram Vilas Paswan.

"This time, crackers with the names of Lalu, Nitish and Ram Vilas are selling like hot cakes. Lalu's parachute and charkhi and the Nitish's bomb are selling more than other crackers," said Mohammed Nasruddin, a shopkeeper.

Priced in a range of rupees 250 to 1,000, these crackers are in great demand.

"Every year during Diwali, crackers with film stars' names used to sell a lot. But this time, we are seeing a new trend. The crackers with Nitish Kumar, Lalu and Ram Vilas Paswan's names are attracting more attention and children are demanding those crackers only," said Rajram Chaudhry, a customer.
