Firecrackers
Patna, Oct 16: Crackers named after the politicians and other national icons from different fields are all set to brighten the 2009 Diwali in Bihar.

While firecrackers are named after Lalu Prasad and Ramvilas Paswan, the Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar rockets will be hitting the Diwali skies this year. Apart from this, the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi sparklers and Mallika Sherawat firecrackers are also being sold.

"The big names help to sell fireworks. These politicians and Bollywood actresses are liked by the customers," a shopkeeper was quoted as saying in a news agency report.

Apart from the names to help the sales, the packers will also be carrying the photos of these leaders or Bollywood stars.

'Lalu atom bombs' and 'Paswan bullet bombs' are reportedly the ones that are in most demand.

Jammu, Nov 9: Pakistan Rangers today greeted their Border Security Force (BSF) counterparts on the occasion of Diwali at various places along the international border in jammu and Kashmir, official spokesman said. Puducherry, Nov 9: A 12-year-old girl was killed and several thatched huts were gutted in verious incidents while bursting crackers to celebrate Diwali festival here last night.
