CWG federation's idea of monitoring panel rejected

New Delhi, Oct 15: Indian Olympic Association (IOA) released a statement on Thursday, Oct 15 expressing its opposition to Commonwealth Games Federation's proposal to constitute an Independent Monitoring Panel to supervise the preparations for the 2010 Delhi Games.

Earlier, the Commonwealth Games Federation conceptualized the idea of forming a monitoring panel to oversee the preparation for the event scheduled to take place in Delhi in 2010.

On Oct 12, the federation reminded India that the 'time was the biggest enemy'.

Despite expressing confidence that the nation's capital was ready and capable to host the games, CGF President Michael Fennell had said that an Independent Technical Panel will monitor the its progress to check if that it meets all the new deadlines and standards.
