Obama woke up to Nobel prize 'surprised & humbled'

Washington, Oct 10: After the news that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 was awarded to US President, Barack Obama took the world by a storm, the recipient was woken up from his sleep at around 6 am by Press secretary Robert Gibbs with the news.

While the world was still debating over if Obama really deserved the Peace prize, Obama came out to say that he was 'humbled' by the win.

Speaking to eporters in the White House Rose Garden on Friday, Oct 9 Obama wondered if he had done enough to earn the award, or deserved to be in the company of the 'transformative figures' who had won it before him.

He went on to say that he accept the award as 'call to action, a call for all nations to confront the challenges of the 21st century'.

Norwegian Nobel Committee took the 'surprise' decision on Friday, Oct 9 to chose Obama over 250 other participants in the fray before substantiating their choice stating that Obama's drive 'new climate in international politics' and his work on nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament were commendable.
