War-like situation: Maha CM on Naxal attack

Ashok Chavan
Mumbai, Oct 9: Reacting to the lastest killing of policemen by Maoists, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said the that we won't be cowed down by the attack.

"It is a war-like situation... we are committed to fighting the Naxals and we won't be cowed down," Chavan said.

When asked if the state government would seek Indian Air Force cover to tackle Naxals, Chavan said, "we will do whatever is required."

Noting that naxal menace was a common problem faced by Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh, Chavan said "this is an inter-state issue and will have to be tackled accordingly."
