Senior Jammu police officer thrashed by residents

Srinagar, Oct 9 (ANI): Residents of Jammu's Rammunshibagh area on Friday thrashed an assistant commissioner of police, who was held responsible for the death of Rohit Khajuria last week.

Assistant Commissioner of Jammu, Rohit Khajuria, was thrashed when he went along with the Deputy Commissioner to meet Rajnish's family, who have been protesting against his death.

Rajnish was picked up by the police on September 30 on charges of kidnapping a Muslim girl. He was kept at Rammunshibagh Police Station and was allegedly tortured and killed.

Police claimed that Rajnish's had committed suicide. (ANI)
