Pak opposition parties describe Kerry-Lugar Bill as 'shameful national insult'

Islamabad, Oct.9 (ANI): Pakistani opposition parties have described the controversial Kerry Lugar Bill as a 'national insult' and an attempt by the US to interfere in the country's internal issues.

During a discussion over the bill in the National Assembly, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Faisal Saleh Hayat said the terms and conditions attached with the bill have created differences among various government institutions.

"The acceptance of the US assistance with these conditions will mean that Pakistan has indirectly accepted all the allegations leveled against it," The Daily Times quoted Hayat, as saying.

Pakistan People's Party-Sherpao (PPP-S) leader Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao asked the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) government to reject the bill saying the US wants to 'involve itself in the micromanagement of the country'.

"This will enhance the integrity and supremacy of parliament. The strings attached to the bill are shameful," Sherpao said. (ANI)
