London, Oct. 9 (ANI): Manchester United striker Michael Owen has said that he won't face sleepless nights if he doesn't find a place in England squad for World Cup 2010.

"There is plenty more to life if I'm not picked in the England squad... But I don't lie awake at night thinking about it. It's a simple equation - play well and you will be in, don't play well and you won't be in," The Sun quoted Owen, as saying.

"I'm playing for a top, top team, playing for top honours, so we will see where it takes us."

Owen, who has not figured in any of Fabio Capello's squads for 14 months, suggested that he gave up hope of making to next summer's World Cup finals after being left out for England's trip to the Ukraine.

"I'm at ease with myself and the situation. I know what I've got to do and that's play well for Man United," he said.

"The last thing I want to do is start a campaign and say all the reasons why I could be or should be involved."

Owen, who has scored 40 England goals from 89 caps, has not even heard from Capello about why he has still not been called up since his move to Old Trafford.

"I think everyone knows what they will get from me and I have shown that at World Cups before. I've always been optimistic. I've never changed as a player, I will always score goals and I have got the record to show that," he said.

Owen will be made to feel part of things on Wednesday when England face Belarus at Wembley.

England originally invited every player who had been part of Capello's World Cup qualifying squads, which did not include the United striker. (ANI)
