NHRC to celebrate Foundation Day on Oct.12

New Delhi, Oct.9 (ANI): The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will celebrate its Foundation Day on October 12.

A cultural variety programme will be organised to mark the occasion.he event will take place on the NHRC Lawn, Faridkot House, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi.

It will be preceded by a welcome address by A.K. Jain, Secretary General, NHRC and an address by Justice G.P. Mathur, the Acting Chairperson of the NHRC. (ANI)

New Delhi, Nov 6: The BJP today accused 'some members' of the National Human Rights Commission of having a 'seemingly biased attitude' towards Gujarat with regard to post-Godhra incidents under the UPA regime and said the issue was pending before a Commission of Inquiry and several courts of the country. NHRC team to visit riot-hit Kandhamal District

The team will discuss the situation with the district administration. They will also have a meeting with the state officials regarding the relief and rehabilitation measures. A two-member team of National Commission for Minorities visited Kandhamal district on Tuesday and had a discussion with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
