Kolkata, Oct 9(ANI): Maoist leader Kishenji, also known as Koteshwar Rao, has reportedly admitted to the beheading of Jharkhand Special Branch police inspector Francis Induwar, but has avoided tendering apology for the act.
On September 30, Maoists had kidnapped Induwar from Jharkhand's Khunti district and later on October 6 his decapitated body was found on the Jamshedpur-Ranchi Highway.
Over the issue, where Union Home Minister P Chidambaram described the beheading as a cold-blooded murder, Kisheji said that they don't behead everyone and they will only behead their real enemies. He also said that there is a huge difference between the Maoists and the Taliban, a Times Now report said on Friday evening.
Kishenji further said that the Maoists are ready for conditional talks with the West Bengal Government.
It is believed that the Maoists wanted the release of their two leaders Kobad Ghandy and Chatrodhar Mahato, arrested by law enforcement authorities in New Delhi and West Bengal respectively earlier in September.
It was also reported that a note had been found with Induwar's body, which warned the Government that they could expect more of the same treatment if their demands were not acceded to. (ANI)
