Girls to get trained for security agencies

Chandigarh, Oct 9: Inspired recent development of women by Border Security Force (BSF), the Punjab police has organised a special programme to train girls for employment in various security agencies.

According to an official spokesman, DGP P S Gill had issues guidelines to provide equitable opportunities and professional training to women, in the forces to make them employable in various security services.

DGP emphasized that there was an increasing demand for women recruits amongst the security agencies for deploying them as guards at various establishments including airports, hospitals and private educational institutions.

The spokesman said the DGP had asked Punjab Security Training Institute (PSTI) operating from the complex of Police Recruitment Training Centre, Jehan Khelan (Hoshiarpur) to immediately come out with a course for women candidates.

MDU, US varsity to set up joint research centre

Chandigarh, July 26: A delegation from the US-based George Washington University visited Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, to explore possibilities of setting up a joint research centre in frontier areas of Bio-informatics and Systems Biology and work out possibilities of joint studies and research. MDU Vice-Chancellor R S Dhankar welcomed the foreign delegation and presented mementoes to the members of the delegation. Prof Dhankar said the ground work for collaborative research was done.....
