Australian Deputy PM's broad Aussie accent baffles US kids!

Melbourne, October 09 (ANI): US school children found it difficult to understand Australian Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard's accent, who is on a visit to the country to discuss green jobs and education.

Gillard revealed that she had spoken to kids in a couple of schools but they were so dumbfounded by her thick Aussie accent that they enquired if English was spoken Down Under.

"I have visited two schools in Washington where the kids asked me, after listening to me, whether or not we spoke English in Australia," News.com.au quoted her as telling Macquarie Radio.

"That Australian accent is foxing them a bit," she added.

Jeb Bush, former Governor of Florida, had invited her to attend the Excellence in Action Summit to speak on education reform including national curriculum, teacher quality and transparency.

Gillard will also meet with senior Obama administration officials during the trip. (ANI)
