Indian-born to head PepsiCo's Quaker food division

Jaya Kumar to head Quaker foods
New York, Oct 6: Pepsico has named an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A), Jaya Kumar the president of Pepsico's Quaker Foods and Snacks division.

Indian-born Kumar will be leading the two billion dollar division of the US-based beverage giant.

This includes a slew of brands like Quaker cereals, the chewy granola bars, and Aunt Jemima mixes and syrups.

Till recently Kumar worked as chief marketing officer for PepsiCo.

The company statement gives Kumar the credit for transforming the marketing agenda and key organizational capabilities at Frito-Lay. By integrating customer sales, marketing, research and development he led innovation into the organisation, the statement announcing the development reads.

Kumar, who will be based out of Chicago, will be reporting to the PepsiCo Americas Foods chief executive John Compton.
