Australia, New Zealand vying to make history in Champion Trophy

Sydney, Oct 4 (ANI): Australia and New Zealand will play in the finals of the Champion Trophy on Monday, with both the teams vying to make history.

The all-Antipodean decider is likely to add spice to the final, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Australia is aiming to become the first country to successfully defend the Champions Trophy title following their win in India three years ago.

New Zealand will also be out to make history by becoming the first side to win the tournament twice, having won the 2000 edition in Kenya.

Australia topped their pool group and beat England by nine wickets in Friday's semi-final in Centurion.

The Black Caps also finished top of their group, and have now notched three successive wins, over Sri Lanka, England and Younus Khan's side. (ANI)

Home detention for Dr Mohamed Haneef

Melbourne, July 27: Charges against Indian doctor Mohamed Haneef may have been dropped, but he would still be kept under detention till the Immigration Department decides whether to reinstate his visa or deport him. But it would come as a relief to the Indian doctor, his family and supporters that Haneef would not be moved to Immigration Detention as charges against him have been dropped now.
