Heavy rains lash Goa and Maharashtra
Panaji, Oct 3: While parts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are experiencing severe floods after torrential rains, Goa saw heavy showers for the third day. Officials have confirmed the death of two people washed away by the floods following heavy rain.

In the border taluk of Canacona, hundred are trapped in their house while about 250 houses have collapsed. According to officials about 400 houses are below water.

The state chief minister Digamber Kamat has rushed to the affected places where defence forces have launched rescue operations.

According to latest media reports, Maharashtra is experiencing heavy rains too and the Maharashtra-Goa highway has been shut.

Since Thursday, Oct 1, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have seen heavy rains due to the depression in the Bay of Bengal. At least 130 people have died due to the floods and forces have launched intense rescue operations in the regions affected by the rains.

Amarnath pilgrimage suspended for second day

Srinagar, June 12 : The Amarnath pilgrimage continued to remain suspended from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes for the second day today due to heavy snowfall and incessant rains at several places along the track to the holy cave shrine, leaving thousands of devotees stranded enroute, officials said.They said while 18 inches of snow was recorded at Mahagunas, six inches of snowfall was received at the holy cave shrine, making it extremely difficult for the pilgrims to undertake the holy journey.....
