Delhi Metro Accident
New Delhi, Oct 3: In yet another accident at a Delhi Metro construction site, cranes overturned at an under construction site in South Delhi's Said-ullah-jab area.

While some media report say that there were two cranes that toppled, other report claim it was a single crane that overtuned.

During the mishap two people have been injured, police officials said. However, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials assert that no one was hurt in the accident.

"A small crane overturned within the construction premises. No one was injured in the incident," Delhi Metro spokesperson Anuj Dayal was quoted as saying.

The accident occurred on Saturday, Oct 3 afternoon on the Connaught Place-Gurgaon metro line.

Bombardier bags $137 mn order for 84 DMRC cars

New Delhi, Mar 29: Canada's Bombardier Transportation today said it has received an order worth 137 million dollars for an additional 84 metro cars from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC). ''This latest order follows on from a contract awarded in July 2007 to supply 340 'MOVIA' metro cars, making a total of 424 metro cars ordered,''Bombardier said in a statement. The new vehicles will be produced at Savli in South Gujarat, where the company is setting up a facility.....

DMRC a great revenue model

New Delhi, Jul 20: An ASSOCHAM study projected earnings of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to go up nearly 200 per cent to a whopping Rs 2,100 crore by 2011, with the revenue streams being generated by traffic of the order of Rs 700 crore and additional incomes being garnered by letting out space for advertising, ATMs, and restaurants. According to an Assocham Forecasting Study, in the next three years the DMRC would have rented out most of its space along metro's track.....
