Gurgaon, Oct 1: Chairman and Managing Director, PVR Ltd, Mr Ajay Bijli has been crowned the 'Entrepreneur of the Year', part of Videocon India Youth Icon Awards.
Receiving the award at an exclusive ceremony held recently at the Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon Mr Bijli dedicated the award to his team who he believes are partners of the PVR's success story.
"I believe that small beginnings make great enterprises but only great teams make the dream last. What started as one man"s vision today has been elevated to an Iconic status not because one man believed in it but for the fact that my colleagues at PVR made this vision their own and strived to make it work," he added.
Happy over being considered as a youth icon, he sent out a message to all the the young entrepreneurs saying, "I would like to say that your foresight, vision and passion is what will change the world; to herald a new world, you will have to become the change."
While the winners were chosen by the nation through online voting, a panel consisting of IPS Officer Dr. Kiran Bedi, famed journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, Filmmaker Shyam Benegal, Tennis Ace Leander Paes, Renowned Cardiologist Dr. Naresh Trehan, Actor & Social Activist Shabana Azmi, famous singer Usha Uthup, and Chairman - Videocon Industries Limited Venugopal Dhoot decided the nominees.
