AI employees to get PLI on Oct 7

Mumbai, Sep 30: It was announced that Air India would pay productivity-linked incentive (PLI) to all sections of employees on Wednesday, Oct 7.

"Air India will pay the Aug PLI payable in Sep on Oct 7," said Jitendra Bhargava, Air India's Executive Director.

He added that Sep 2009 salaries were already forwarded to employees' respective bank accounts.

The PLI will be paid in full, Bhargava added.

Bhargava said on Wednesday, Sep 30, 116 pilots from Indian Airlines and 72 from Air India reported sick.

Earlier in the day, the government announced that 'all options were open' for AI, and the airline may approach the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to seek cancellation of pilots" licenses.

It was added that government allowed AI to take legal action against pilots, who were on mass sick leave.
