Maha Polls: Shiv Sena-BJP release manifesto

Mumbai, Sep 28: Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released the joint manifesto for the Oct 13 Maharashtra Assembly elections, on Monday, Sep 28.

Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray unveiled the manifesto in the presence of senior BJP leaders Gopinath Munde and Nitin Gadkari at Shiv Sena Bhavan in central Mumbai.

In the manifesto the alliance promises separate ministry for welfare of nomadic tribes, 15 percent quota in jobs and educational institutions for economically backward classes and stabilising prices.

Promising the people a people-centric government if the Sena-BJP alliance was voted to power, Thackeray said that 'Shiv Sampark Cell' with state-of-the-art technology will be established to keep abreast of the people's problems and a separate ministry will be created to co-ordinate between the government and the people.

Apart from this, the manifesto also promises soft loans to farmers at 4 pc interest, Rs 500 pension for farm labourers, better trade, extension of Bandra-Nariman Point Sea Link, better water transportation and achieving the state power surplus within three years of assuming charge of the government.

M'shtra: After civic polls, Sena eyes the State

Pune, May 9: The Shiv Sena is all set to take their success in the recently - concluded civic polls, a step further, by regaining power in the State Assembly polls, scheduled two years hence according to party executive president Uddhav Thackeray. Addressing party workers and sainiks after inaugurating the 'Sena Bhavan' in the busy Deccan Gymkhana area, Mr Thackeray said the Sena was not satisfied by getting the posts of Mayor or Deputy Mayor.....
