H1N1 claims 8 more lives, India's toll at 240

New Delhi, Sep 21: With a total of eight new H1N1 deaths being reported from states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, the country's Swine flu death toll has risen to 240.

Each of the above mentioned states reported two fatalities on Sunday, Sep 20. While one death each was reported from Pune and Mumbai, both the Andhra Pradesh deaths were from Hyderabad.

Apart from this, Health Ministry revealed that about 253 fresh cases have been reported across the country, out of which one was an imported case and rest are indigenous.

Jerusalem, Apr 28: An Israeli Hospital, Laniado Hospital today reported its first case of swine flu.
