Zardari says Pak needs 100 billion dollars to resolve economic crises

London, Sep. 19 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said his country requires 100 billion dollars to resolve its ongoing economic crises.

"We are passing through a thorny period, we have to take difficult decisions. Today's situation is the result of policies adopted in the 1980s, due to which Pakistan suffered huge economic losses," Zardari told a gathering at the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS) in London on Friday.

The Daily Times quoted him, as saying that Pakistan's Tribal Areas had become a centre of international terrorism, and that the extremists had been created through a deliberate policy to employ religious fanaticism for the achievement of certain strategic objectives.

On the question of former president Pervez Musharraf's prosecution, Zardari said his government would register a case against the former dictator if parliament reached consensus on the matter.

"Musharraf is living in Britain as a guest, and no inquiry will be carried out against him in Pakistan," he said. (ANI)
