London, September 19 (ANI): Princes William and Harry paid a secret visit to wounded servicemen and their families in Afghanistan.
The royals spent three-and-a-half hours with those injured in Afghanistan at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine at Selly Oak in Birmingham.
Their trip came after a personal plea from their father Prince Charles, who apparently told them it was "full to the gunnels" with the wounded who could use some morale boosting.
"They were both very moved by the occasion and met a lot of seriously wounded people and their families as well," the Daily Express quoted an aide as saying.
Julie Moore, chief executive of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, said: "The presence of both Prince William and Prince Harry brought smiles to the faces of many patients and their families and friends, and we're proud to have hosted them at the trust.
She added: "They showed a keen and obviously sincere interest in how we care for patients and in the patients themselves, which was so rewarding for -everyone." (ANI)
