India not moved by FIRs against Saeed

New Delhi, Sep 19: Not moved by Pakistan registering an FIR against the alleged mastermind of the 26/11 attacks, Hafiz Saeed, India's External Affairs Minister, SM Krishna termed this step 'pointless'.

“We won"t be satisfied till Pakistan takes action against Hafiz Saeed. Pakistan must dismantle all terror activities with immediate action," Mr Krishna was quoted as saying in a report.

According to reports, in the two FIRs lodged against Saeed there is no mention of his alleged invovlvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks of 2008.

While speaking to a TV channel, Home Minister P Chidambram said, “Pakistan must question Hafiz Saeed. Even if Pakistan questions Saeed in private I"m happy."

And on a positive and encouraging note Chidambaram said, “Even a half step towards punishing a crime suspect is a good step."

Amid the mounting pressure from the international sphere as well as the neighbouring India, Pakistan police on Friday,s Sep 18 filed FIRs against Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief for inciting violence by glorifying jihad or the holy war..

'Saeed's release not a set back to 26/11 probe'

New Delhi, June 2: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said on Tuesday, Jun 2 that the Government of Pakistan was never serious about investigating the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.Talking to reporters, Chidambaram said, "We are unhappy that Pakistan has not shown any seriousness about the 26/11 investigations.
