Islamabad, Sep. 16 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has revealed that 36 Memorandums of Understanding have been signed between the Islamic country and China in the past year.
In an interview with the Guangming Daily, Zardari added that over 50 new joint collaboration have also been identified.
Lauding the China's growth and development, Zardari said that he had visited China several times to familiarize himself with that country's spectacular development story.
"There is a lot to learn from the Chinese model of economic development, particularly the one adopted in provinces of Zhejiang and Guangdong.
"I have been impressed by all round development your great country has achieved. One is inspired by the remarkable achievements of the Chinese people and the wise stewardship of its leaders. I think there is a great deal Pakistan can learn from the Chinese experience and its development model," The Daily Times quoted him, as saying.
Replying to a question about Pakistan's stance over law and order situation in Xinjiang province, he said the government of Pakistan fully supported the Chinese government's efforts to maintain peace.
"Pakistan fully supported China's policy of social harmony and development. We also believe that with the unprecedented economic development in China all ethnic groups would stand to gain," he said.
Zardari said that Pak-China relationship, based upon the strong foundations laid by former premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto will grow stronger with the cooperation on global and regional peace, advancement in the science and technology and improvement in the living standards of the people.
"This relationship will grow stronger and stronger with each passing year," he said. (ANI)
