London, Sep.15 (ANI): Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson has laughed off talk that his club is a spent force in the soccer arena, and told the Premier League and Europe to write them off at their peril.
He said: "Some guy said it was the worst United team in years. That was a beauty! The worst team in years! Maybe it will be... maybe we will only win the league. It will be really hard to win the league. Chelsea are strong. They scored a late goal and that's a good indication. But we have done that over the years."
United are to start their new Champions League campaign at Besiktas, and in Sunday's derby with Manchester City.
United should qualify from their group with ease, following Besiktas with clashes against CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg.
But Ferguson warned: "Its not easy to win it, as we found out in the final in Rome. One mistake in a big game like that and you are crucified. Remember that. One mistake." (ANI)
