'Jaswant's book is a reproduction & not factual'

Jaswant Singh's Book on Jinnah
New Delhi, Sep 10: After the facing a slew of allegations from his partymen over the book 'Jinnah: India Independece Partition', Jaswant Singh is now in the middle of a new controversy. A historian has claimed that the politician's book is a reproduction of another author's work and is not based on actual historical facts.

Speaking at 'Meet-the-Press' program on Wednesday, Sep 9, Dr J B P More said that the expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has tried to reproduce a book authored by Pakistani scholar Ayisha Jalal and alleged that Singh only wrote the controversial book to attain popularity.

"Jaswant Singh as a politician compiled the book without reflecting on authentic historical facts and a historian alone can bear the patience to carefully analyse such facts," he said.

The historian also said that the BJP leader buried the real historical facts and blamed Congress leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhai Patel for the Indo-Pak partition.

Arguing that Pakistan's founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah held sectarian views and should be held solely responsible for India's partition, the historian stated that neither Pakistan nor Bangladesh gained much out of this as these nations were facing a host of problems as Jinnah himself had admitted to this later.
